The app

Vessa Rig is built to run your show. The app has no account to create, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. We do not run servers that your songs pass through.

Your songs and settings stay on your devices

Songs, lyrics, recordings, mixes, setlists and settings are stored on your iPad, iPhone or Mac. If you turn on iCloud sync, a copy of supported song data is kept in your own iCloud account, under Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot see it. The current sync does not transfer audio or replace a Full Backup.

When the app goes online

• Cover art lookup: the song’s title and artist are sent to MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive to find artwork.
• Web image search: opens Google Images inside the app. What you search for is sent to Google under Google’s privacy policy.
• Song details (Auto-fill): uses Apple’s ShazamKit and MusicKit. A short audio signature or the song’s title is sent to Apple to identify it.

Connecting your devices

Your band’s phones, iPads and screens connect to the rig over local connections. Nothing passes through us.

Permissions

• Microphone: for live voice or instruments and recordings you choose to make. Recordings stay on your device.
• Photos: the pictures and videos you choose for backgrounds and covers.
• Local network and Bluetooth: to connect your band’s devices and MIDI controllers.

This website

• Visitor counts: when enabled, Cloudflare Web Analytics provides cookie-free visitor counts and performance measurements, with no personal data collected or used by that analytics service. See Cloudflare’s explanation.
• Videos: nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. The player then loads from youtube-nocookie.com, and Google’s policies apply. Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean the player makes no requests.
• Launch sign-up: submitting the form sends your email address to Kit (formerly ConvertKit) for launch updates. You can unsubscribe using the link in an email. When the form is not available, the email link opens your mail app instead.
• Support and press: if you email us, we receive your email address and what you choose to send so we can reply. Do not include passwords or information you do not want to share.

Purchases

Apple handles payments through the App Store. We never receive your payment details.

Children

Vessa Rig is not directed at children under 13. The website’s sign-up is intended for adults. Contact us if a child has submitted personal information so it can be addressed.
